Anyone who
sees Struga for the first time is amazed and delighted of the view and the
magical beauty of the lake and the city. Is there something more beautyful
and more majestical of the flow of Crn Drim out of the lake. That natural
phenomenon which obsessess and ennobles the soul with the best feelings.
The river gently flows through the city, as it want to sing a new song
that the visitors would not get upset, who walk by the river and are
thrilled of the clear waters. At the evenings when many lights are on, the
river has even a beter view by the reflection of the its waters. On its
way to the Adriatic Sea Drim froms two unnatural lakes Globocica and
Spilje which have wonderful landscapes at this area. Struga and Crni Drim
all its splendour has to be seen and experienced. Here is the unforgetable
old market place with its “kepenci”-lids on the shoping windows, where
was born the folk song.

Cherecteristic for Struga also is the International Festival “Struga poetry evenings” and invites all the poets of the world to a cultural competition through verses to transfer the voice of peace and progress among the nations. Crn Drim flow out of Ohrid Lake
The area of Kalista on the side of Struga of the Ohrid Lake
at Struga on 695m above sea level, and leaves the country near Debar on 476m above sea level. Crn Drim is 56km long. However, the river has an ordinary flow only to less than a half of the length and that from Struga up to the village Tasmaruniste. Leaving the village the river enters a gorge and right after makes a lake because about 10km on north is dam 82m high. the dam forms the accumulation Globocica fild up by Crni Drim.
- Right after
the hydroelectric power plant the waters of Crni Drim again make
lakes because of the dam 102m high near Debar. This lake has the
most water of all lake in the country because it accumulates 520
milions m3 water. From this lake the water is lead
through tunels into the hydroelectric power plant Spilje. In the
waters of Crni Drim live minnow, carp, eel, mrena, and other fishes.
The waters of Crni Drim are used to their maximum and present a
hydroenergetic potential of the Republic of Mecedonia. By both power
plants are made 580 kw/h electric energy per year.
