The water of these abysses appears near Ohrid Lake which is 158m lower of Prespa Lake. Prespa Lake is rich in endemic kind of fish. The lake has two islands: Golem Grad long 800m and wide 500m and Mal Grad long 250m and wide 150m. On both of the islands the edges are steep with a fall of 850C. The island Golem Grad at the time of Tzar Samuel at the 10th century was his residence and today the are leftovers of ruins of an old church. Today Prespa Lake is a well known tourist centre.
