View of Popova Sapka

Popova Sapka is a well known winter resort in the Republic of Macedonia, located on the slopes of our “snow beauty” on 1780m above sea level.

You can reach Popova Sapka from Tetovo in two ways. If you want to enjoy the beatiful winter landscape of our beatuful mountain choose the most atractive way - by cable railway. The cable rail is 6km, and it starts from Tetovo near Arababa Teke and for less than 40 minutes it will take you up to Popova Sapka. The second way is to take the 18km asphalt road.

When you arrive at Popova Sapka, especially in the winter, a view of a snow cover which during the day the sun rays reflect so strong that you must wear sun- glasses will welcome you. On Popova Sapka you can get a better tan than if you stayed for ten days on the lake or sea. The hotels “Popova Sapka”, “Skopje”, "Teteks”, and some other accommodations were built on Popova Sapka. Nearby Popova Sapka are the sites Jelak, Lesnica, Caripasa, and all of them together make this centre even more atractive.

Summer on Popova Sapka

   Popova Sapka has outstanding ski- sleigh terrains connected by cable railway and ski lifts. Over the winter it is a real pleasure to be on Popova Sapka because it looks like a city of 10 thousand inhabitants. The traditional event “Mountain Sar Cup” takes place here.

The view is magnificent and open not only towards the neighbouring mountains Jakupica and Solunska Glava (2540m) but also towards Polog. The view is unforgetable especially when it is a little foggy because it reminds you of an open sea.

But Popova Sapka is also beautiful in summer. The clean air is healthy for anaemic persons and the cold spring water gives a healthy apetite.
