MALESEVO VALLEY
Landscape of Malesevo |
Malesevo Valley is at the most eastern part of the Republic of Macedonia and its covers an area of 192 kmē. It is enclosed with mountains from all sides: on the north with Golak and Beaz Tepe, on the south with Ograzden, on the east with Kadica and Vlaina and on the west with Plackovica and Obozna. The forests of these mountains are rich with oak, fir, and beech that make the valley especially beautiful. |
| Apart from that, these mountains are rich with pastures, wild life and lignite. The mine "Brik" has enough lignite for the next 25 years with average production of 90 thousand tons per annum | |

|
| River Bregalnica and River Ratevska flow through the valley.
Above village Ratevo is the Ratevo dam. The waters are used for irrigation
and, at the same time, as irrigation reserves for the rice fields of
Kocani that spread out all the way to Ovce Pole through Kalimanci Lake. |

Hospitality and revolutionary history of the ancestors is
traditional for the population of Malesevo Valley. In the days prior to
the Ilinden Uprising the population of Malesevo massively responded to the
Rebellion at Razlovci and Kresna. There is a favourable potential for development of tourism.
The localities Malesevo and Ablanica make that possible. |
The 1000m above sea level and the deep pine forests meet all
the requirements for a pleasant holiday. Mostly teachers and students from
the Republic of Macedonia visit this site. The construction of the new terminal Klepalo on the
Macedonian-Bulgarian border as well as the road to Strumica through
Ograzden will help the
development of Malesevo Valley. |
