The total area of Macedonia is 26,000 km2, of which about 25% is pastures, 25% arable land, meadows, vineyards and fruit plantations, 8% is barren land, 37% is forest land, 2% is lakes, and 2.5% is urban and industrial land. The average density of the population is 81 inhabitants per km2. About 60% of othe population lives in urban areas. |
