Gas Pipeline in Macedonia |

- Natural gas will be dispatched on the territory of our country
through the point of Deve Bair on the Macedonian-Bulgarian border crossing. The
transportation will be done through the main gas pipeline that goes through Kriva Palanka,
Kratovo, Kumanovo, and all the way to Skopje, while the distribution will take place
through the city gas pipeline network in Skopje, Kumanovo, Kratovo and Kriva Palanka.

- The physical and chemical property analysis of natural gas indicates that gas is not
that dangerous a medium for water resources because the substances that are created by
mutual reaction of hydrocarbons from the gas itself and water are not harmful substances.
- The impact of gas on soil in normal working conditions of the gas pipeline does not have
a negative consequences on the soil because natural gas is not discharged. If emissions of
gas happen, then there would be a relative pollution of the soil depending on the quantity
of gas discharged.
- In addition, the gas pipeline system does not create noise more than the legally allowed
level.
- Uncontrolled leakage of natural gas into the air can occur only in cases of accidents,
and even in that case, only a limited quantity of gas can leak out.

- A new junction point is planned for the future. This point will be in
the Strumica region and it will distribute the gas for Albania. It will cover the region
of Prilep and Ohrid.
