Cat

If a cat enters the house as a small kitten, soon it will be tamed and it will accept the environment as its own. It is easy to train this pet, to teach it where it can go to the toilet, where it can eat and sleep etc. The kitten has to acquire good habits as early as possible, because it is difficult to train it later in life. Unlike the dog, the cat needs a friend and not a master. Cats are much more independent than dogs. The closeness between humans and cats varies from rase to rase. For example, the Siamese cats are mainly difficult cats, aggressive and jelous, while Burmese cats are very similar to dogs. Regardless of the rase, nearly all cats expect not to be left alone all day, to understand that they will be picky when it comes to food, to understand their expectional sex drive and not to respond to it by punishing it.

Dog

The dog is the favourite pet and, unlike the cat, it is much more inclined to training. Its devotion towards the master is limitless and it gives its love unconditionally. When the dog is just a puppy you have to pay attention to its training in order for it to acquire good habits. After that your obligations would sum up to walking the dog, combing it, feeding it properly and preventing certain illnesses. The dog does not like to be alone, thus it is the ideal pet for large families where there is a member of the family available at all times to walk the dog and play with it. The dog sometimes can be great help for disabled people, blind people etc. When choosing a dog you have to take into consideration the space you are living in and be aware of the fact that you have to take preventive measures on regular basis (vacinations and, if necessary, to get rid of its parazites, especially if you have children). Proper food is especially important because that will determine how long your pet will live.

Aquarium fish

Great many people keep aquarium fish. As a result, many of them have lost their natural resistence to various diseases. There are many species of aquarium fish. They have different size, colour, way of multiplying etc. If you want to have such pets, you need to take care of the aquarium and to avoid giving them live food from polluted areas. Various contengious disease can be transmitted with the newly brought fish. You need to use all sorts of desinfectents, but you also have to be very careful with them because the fish is very sensitive.

Parrots

If you want to have these beautiful colourful birds for pets, you should know that they need patience and great love. Every parrot can learn to talk i.e. to immitate human speech. If you want to teach them to talk, choose a young parrot that has left the nest recently and has started to feed itself (a male is desireable). They need food and water every day as well as attention. If you have the possibility you can set them free in a large room and allow them to live in a larger space.

Other pets

Apart from them, you can also have furry, cute,small rodents for pets like white mice, rabbits, Syrian hamsters, and sea pigs. You will not have any problems with them provided you clean them up regulary and teach the children to play with them carefully. They are usually kept in small cages or terraria, in which you can add swings, labrynths, tunnels, ladders etc. The sawdust used for the base of the cage must be changed every day otherwise an unpleasant smell will be felt. These pets are not very particular regarding food. So, you can give them fruits, vegetables or some other solid foods that they can eat throughout the day and use their teeth that grow throughout their whole lives. They are not noisy and they adjust very easily anywhere.
