The "Komitsko oro" (Rebel's dance) costume
The rebels' costumes are actually all Macedonian costumes, since there were rebels throughout the country. However, during the contemporary stage performances of the "Komitsko oro" (Rebel's dance), the dancers wear the costume which probably used to be most typical for the rebels, and which also served as an inspiration for the modern uniform of the present Elite Guard of the Republic of Macedonia's Army. The costumes, in addition to the folk costume trousers (be~vi), rather similar to those of Eastern Macedonia, short sleeveless embroidered jacket and shirt, also include well-known typical cap, a cartridge belt with bullets, white socks tied around with girth, as well as a dagger and a pistol.
