Bistra, Deshat and Stogovo

Unlike the nearby, higher mountains (Korab, Deshat,
Krchin...), Bistra is more accessible, with its vast meadows, pastures,
and forests. Thus, climbing Bistra to enjoy this excellent mountain landscape is
much easier. Its main morphological feature are huge fluvial
areas. On Mount Bistra's immense pastures large
herds of sheep are grazed, and visitors always show greatest pleasure when
visiting some of the numerous sheepfolds where the sheep milk is processed.
The highest summits of Bistra are Medenica (2,163 m), Trebiska Dupka, Curkov Dol, and Bistra. In the western part of Bistra there is also the inaccessible area of Ostrovo, with its vertical slopes that hide a true jungle and many wild animals within their armpits.
Mount Bistra is bordered with the mountains of Deshat (the mountain
range on the Macedonian - Albanian border with its peaks of Velivar (2,375 m),
Krchin, Deli Senica, and Suva Bara) and Stogovo with the summits of Golem Rid
(2,278 m), Babin Srt, and Kanesh. These two mountains are also full of
magnificent landscapes, deep river gorges, immense forests, and small glacial
mountain lakes.
