The Annunciation |
33 x 25.5 cm. Tempera. Plaster ground on ground. Unknown church. Today - at the Museum of Macedonia, Skopje. Condition: Fairly damaged, especially the lower half of the icon. |
| Iconography: Mother of God seated on two cushions on a throne without a back. Her right hand raised in a gesture of surprise, while she holds a purple thread. She is dressed in a blue hiton and dark-red maphorion. In front of her the Archangel Gabriel at the moment of descent. In his left hand He holds a rod and points out with his right to Mother of God. He is dressed in dark-blue hiton and ochreish-green himation. In the background a requisite architecture. From the segment of the sky a light falls on the Mother of God. Conservation: The icon has been cleaned and conserved at the laboratory of IPCM - Skopje.
