The Folk Costume of the villages along the Durachka River

The specific variations in the fabric, design and ornamentation of the particular clothing items constitute the Folk Costume along the Durachka River. The women of this region put a long sleeveless vest made of a stripe/patterned fabric over the shirt kenarlia. A woolen sash kemer is placed around the waist as well as a ornamented apron skutina peshkir. The costume for religious observance and bridal ceremonies are richly decorated with braids made of wool and glitter décor and a woven cloth called yashmak.

Red ornamented socks made of wool chorapi kolaylii and homemade opintsi with long woolen laces make up the footwear of these mountainous villages.

The male costume where all the clothing items are made of a woolen fabric except for the shirt are a natural brown color -–chakshiri, jamadan, vest decorated with black braids has features of a mountain – stock breeders costume.
