The Folk Costume of the Brsyachka ethnic entirety The Brsyachka ethnic entirety spreads throughout the southwestern part of Macedonia. It is the largest ethnic entirety compiled of several smaller ones each with their own ethnic features and Folk Costumes. The Brsyak ethnic entirety consists of the regions: the Struga Drimkol, the Struga Plain, Malesia, Debartsa, Kichevia, Poreche, Zheleznik, Prespa, Gorni Sela (Upper Villages),Pole, Mariovo, Tikvesh, Babuna and parts of the subgroup Central Vardar. The female costume of this part of Macedonia is especially distinguished in the differences in the item clothing of specific regions. The long tunic-like shirt is present decorated with opulent embroidery along the sides, the sleeves and breast. The upper clothing items are of different sizes from tight and short to below the sash. The length of the each item increases the further south towards the Ohrid Lake.The male costume is simpler made of klashna. |
