Blaze Koneski (1921-1993) a poet and a philologist dedicated to the study and codification of the Macedonian literary language, a rector of the University in Skopje and the first president of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, one of the most prominent personalities in the Macedonian contemporary literature and culture, the author of brilliant works in the field of history and dialectology of the Macedonian language: "The History of the Macedonian Language", "On Macedonian Literary Language", "Grammar of the Macedonian Literary Language" etc.
